Patrons of Westland Area Library, a location of the Southwest Public Libraries organization, enjoyed the sounds of a string trio from the Columbus Symphony on Sept. 8.

Musicians employed by the Columbus Symphony are encouraged to participate in outreach concerts.

“We had a generous benefactor who made it possible to bring music into areas that don’t have opportunities to hear this level of music,” Community Engagement Coordinator Christopher Bowling said.

The evening of music included the sounds of Bach, Brahms and some more modern music like Miley Cyrus.

The string trio included violinist Maalik Glover, cellist Pei-An Choa, and violist Ann Schnapp.

Upcoming concerts: Simply the Best: Music of Tina Turner on Sept. 19 and Sept. 20, Beethoven on Sept. 26. More can be seen at https://columbusymphony.com.

Columbus Library card holders can get free tickets to select symphonies via the Culture Pass.
