Today neighbors of Westgate celebrated their love of all pets. The event took place at the West Gate Lodge No. 623 F&AM at 2925 W. Broad St.

There was a record number of entrants in the annual Pet Pageant with 30 entries. Winners were Cali in third, Piper in second, and Enzo took first! Enzo will be “Westgate’s Super Sidekick”.

This is the third year for the Westgate Neighbors Association to host the event. The event showcased 27 vendors and a new category of pets, birds.

The Westgate Wags and Whiskers is a favorite for the community.

“I know more people by their dogs, then their names.” chair of the event Evelyn Slaybaugh said.

The event hosted a raffle with several sought-after items like $100 dollar gift cards to the Final Cut Steakhouse at the Hollywood Casino. All raised funds from the raffle will go to benefit the local pet charities. Whereas, monies from the event rolls into other Westgate Neighbors Association events like the upcoming Mums and Mummies and Trick-or-Treat.
