Caring for Kids receives funding

The donation will directly support CFK’s Fostering Futures Fund, which provides young adults transitioning out of foster care with higher education assistance, vocational training, and essential resources to build stable futures.

Oxford Risk, LLC has officially awarded $10,000 to Caring for Kids, Inc. (CFK), a nonprofit organization providing inclusive birth parent, foster care, adoption, and behavioral health services. The donation will directly support CFK’s Fostering Futures Fund, which provides young adults transitioning out of foster care with higher education assistance, vocational training, and essential resources to build stable futures.

After nearly 30 years of service, CFK recently moved into its first permanent facility, expanding its impact with a behavioral health wing, sensory rooms, and private counseling spaces. Oxford Risk has played a critical role in this journey—serving on the board, launching fundraising campaigns, and supporting school supply and holiday drives.

“As an independent insurance agency, we know the joy of having something to call your own—whether it’s a home, a car, or a family,” said James Kahoe, principal of Oxford Risk, LLC. “It’s been a privilege to support CFK’s work, and we’re proud to help further their mission in our community in their new facility.”

Caring for Kids’ vision is to care for Every Child. Every Family. Every Step of the Way. Their services aim to support those impacted by adoption and foster systems with compassionate and competent care.

“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Alexandra Rideout, Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance. “Oxford Risk, LLC is an outstanding example of how agencies can make a real difference, and we hope sharing their story inspires others to give back as well.”
