Touch-A-Truck

Columbus Police Helicopter pilots Sgt. Seevers and Lt. David were on hand at the Touch-A-Truck event for a short time before having to head out to their 2 hour patrol. The farthest they’ve ever assisted partner agencies is into Pennsylvania, to capture a fugitive.

Franklin County Engineer’s office hosted their annual Touch-a-Truck event on Oct. 16 at Fortress Obetz. The community was welcome to wear their Halloween costumes and agencies passed out candy.

FCEO partnered with more than two dozen agencies that serve the public within Franklin County.

“We like to engage with the public and reach our youngest residents by introducing them to the departments in a fun way,” , Franklin County Engineer’s Director of Communications Carla Marable said.

As a local public works agency headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, the Franklin County Engineer’s Office is responsible for the maintenance and construction of 271 miles of county roadway and 351 county bridges, as well as upkeep of all county ditches, drains, retention basins, and other storm water facilities within the right-of-way of county roads in unincorporated areas.

The FCEO partnered with the Columbus Diaper Coalition and coordinated a diaper drive with the event.
