Cyclist Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run on Sullivant Avenue

Columbus police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a bicyclist critically injured early Friday morning.

According to police, the crash occurred around 1:29 a.m. on Oct. 3, as an adult was riding a bicycle westbound in the westbound lane of Sullivant Avenue near Wedgewood Drive. An unknown smaller blue SUV struck the rear of the bicycle, ejecting the rider onto the sidewalk north of the roadway.

The SUV continued westbound on Sullivant Avenue without stopping. Franklin Township Medic #192 transported the victim to Grant Medical Center in critical condition.

The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit responded to the scene and is continuing to investigate.

Man Killed, Another Charged After Shooting on Hayden Avenue

Columbus police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Oct. 5, on the city’s west side.

Officers were called to the 100 block of Hayden Avenue around 12:34 a.m. and found 29-year-old O’Shay White-Foster suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:48 a.m., police said.

Investigators said an adult victim told detectives he was attacked by White-Foster and another man, Marqwan Foster, 38. The victim stated he fired in self-defense after being confronted with a firearm.

Detectives later learned that Marqwan Foster also suffered a gunshot wound during the same altercation and sought treatment at a local hospital. He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with White-Foster’s death.
